An idea to improve network quality in inactive hexes

Hello Wingbits Team, I am writing to share a feature suggestion that I believe could greatly benefit the network's data quality and solve the issue of "hex hoarding." Currently, if the owner of a hex has their antenna offline (or never installs it), that location produces no data. My proposal is to implement a "Fallback" or "Secondary" antenna system. How it would work: If the primary owner's antenna goes offline, the system should allow another user to set up an antenna in that same hex and generate rewards. However, the original owner would retain absolute priority. The moment the primary antenna comes back online, it instantly overrides the secondary antenna, reclaiming the hex and the rewards. Why I believe this is necessary:

  • Prevents Hex Hoarding: It stops users from simply reserving highly valuable locations and leaving them inactive indefinitely.

  • Maximizes Network Quality: Certain locations are extremely valuable for Wingbits. It doesn't make sense for the network to miss out on crucial data just because the primary owner is experiencing downtime or inactive.

  • Win-Win for the Community: It allows active, ready-to-deploy members to provide data while respecting the original owner's reservation when they are actually contributing. Why not let someone else provide the data while the primary antenna is inactive? I believe this dynamic would ensure the network stays robust and active at all times. Thank you for your time and for the great work on the project. Best regards
