Modify Wingbits Readsb Config File Behaviour

Can Wingbits check if Beast is working before checking the config/modifying the config? Our project (Balena-ads-b) doesn't use the standard /etc/default/readsb config path and instead it is all done via parameters and environment variables. If Wingbits can check Beast is working before hand, then the errors about readsb config not existing won't occur and cause confusion. That, or some sort of parameter to skip the config check all together that we can pass along to the startup.

    The Wingbits client added a migration script to update the readsb config to start sending beast. This served us well (updated over 98% of the stations automatically) but on some setups it can't update the config and the logs are confusing. We've updated the logs to be a bit less alerting/confusing.

    Why not implementing the proposed solution?

    The proposed solution is indeed the more elegant way of doing it! We should have thought of that from the start. Now we are almost done with migration and we will shortly remove the readsb update script fully. Since it is to be removed we rather keep the effort low.

    But if we ever need to do a similar thing in the future we should adress it like proposed.
