Reboot Station if no network connect after X minutes.

Suggestions

Looking for an option to auto-reboot the station if it falls offline for more than a pre-described period of time. I’m not sure how the professionally built stations will handle wifi drops, but for some reason, if the wifi drops, the Raspberry Pi’s aren’t “prefect” at reconnecting to a network when the network comes back online.

    I have mine running on a VM inside proxmox so I can remotely reboot it that way, but yeah if the host froze that’d be tricky

    Currently there is two possible options.

    First if you are HomeAssistant user, you can use ping integration to monitor device and if it doesn't respond to for set period power cycle with smart plug.

    Second using Shelly smart plug on its own, it can run monitoring script and again if your device is not responding automatically power cycle.

    Both options will work only if device is not responding to ping.

    I hope Wingbits will support some way to pull data with stats and connection state to integrate in HomeAssistant, in that way power cycle could be made more acute. Feel free to upvote my suggestion.

      Thanks for the reply on this. I currently have it on a Kasa/TP Link smart switch. I don’t use HomeAssistant, but I wonder if IFTTT has a recipe similar to what you described. I’ll look in to it. thanks for the idea.
